Course Description:
This course teaches basic metal properties, welding techniques on specialized metals, plastic repairs, and surface preparation and refinishes systems. Students learn in the classroom and in a real collision repair facility. Training in use of specialized tools, estimation of damage and repair costs and customer relations are integral parts of the curriculum. All students develop skills by smoothing fenders, removing and replacing auto body parts before possessing the skills level for working on selected customer service vehicles. Team work and leadership are a part of every assignment in this course. Second year students continue on skill competencies on actual vehicles.
